The Caw of the Raven

From his vantage in the sky or perch high in the trees
He sees her arrival, cloaked in black stealing life
She walks through the battlefields, in the wake of war
The site of accidents and hospitals are her hunting grounds
Gleefully reciting a cantion of suffering and death
Attended by unholy dogs that smell out the moribund
Since the beginning of time he has seen this belial
He has called out a warning each time she appeared
No man heeds his corvine scream echoing over the land
Wrongfully labeled as deaths messenger a bad omen
He has withstood deadly intentions and rumors
Clothed in silken ebony fledge that glistens in the sun
He still screams out his warning to all that will listen
Take note my friend as it may once save your life
Heed the rasping voice of our corvine brother
Set your ears and listen for the Caw of the Raven
Just a thought.

Can I just say that I really like my name... lol. Wonderfully written. I'm playing catch up as we speak trying to read through all the stuff I missed on my recent trip to the Big Apple. Beautiful imagery.
